as an incentive for clients to purchase a larger marketing package, or even as a valid excuse for calling again on businesses that have so far been uninterested in being clients.
Board games are again very popular as parents are looking for ways to get the kids to put down their cel phones and interact with the family! And, the most popular game in America during the past 40 years being Trivial Pursuit, everyone in the community knows how the game is played and will be looking forward to the game's release!
Typical small market ad price for Regular Wheel board space; Larger spaces sell for more, up to $900 for the 6 "Anchor" spaces
Both small-town and big-city merchants and businesses are always on the lookout for creative ways to keep their names and logos in front of potential customers and clients, and when presented with the opportunity to be a part of a family-based, community-supporting concept like our Hometown Trivia Game, it usually only becomes a question of which space on the game board they are going to want to reserve!
Retailers who we contact are especially taken by our unique packaging style, where the entire game board acts as the box top artwork, with the vibrant colors and the distinctive Trivia Wheel grabs the shopper's attention and clearly announces the community-based game inside.
We are in the business of helping you make money and at the same time stand out as the most creative marketing firm in your area. For that reason, we make our agreement stress-free and uncomplicated. Here are the basics:
First, we sell a license for you to be an Associate Publisher of Fox Publishing and Marketing. The licensing agreement describes the Protected Territory where you may invite businesses and entities to advertise in our trademarked and copyrighted localized trivia game, using the marketing kits we will provide for your team, and authorizing you to be our exclusive distributor of the game units that we will deliver to you.
Second, you would be authorized to sell the advertising spaces on the board (and in the rules sheet) for any amount that you wish to charge. We will provide you with a general ad price guideline, based on what our own marketing teams have successfully charged in similar markets, but you would be free to modify those amounts in any way you would like (for example, including a game space ad free if an advertiser commits to a larger marketing package). You then keep the total revenue from advertising space sales that you collect, paying us a flat fee for the production and delivery of your first run of games - in most Small Markets, that would be $11,500, and we would print, produce and package 500 complete game units and deliver them to your facility. (if pre-production game orders indicate that you will need more than a first run of 500 games, we can accommodate that with a simple add-on clause to the agreement).
Third, our licensing agreement of course spells out generous time allotments for the completion of the ad sale campaign. In Small Markets it allows Associate Publishers 4 months to complete your sales campaign and provide us with the logos and artwork necessary for us to print the game face and the game cards. Once all the ad copy and artwork has been submitted, and the balance of the Production Fee has been received, we then have 60 days to produce the game and deliver it to you. If you send out artwork as soon as you receive it from an advertiser, we will create their ad files as the weeks go by, so that often a Licensee can receive the finished product much more quickly than 60 days!
Here is an idea of the revenue you can generate with this project: There are typically 42 "regular" business ad spaces on the game face, wheel and spokes (there have been games where we made the Center space smaller in order to create 6 more spaces on the spokes). While we recommend combining 2 spoke spaces to create a few larger "Double Spaces", you should be able to get an average price of $350 for 42 spaces ($14,700), $900 for each of the 6 large Anchor Spaces ($5400), so even if you GAVE AWAY the Center "presents" space and all 4 gray corner triangles (not recommended, best to use those for media trades or to gain support of the Rotary, Kiwanis or other service organizations with great business memberships) you should bring in over $20,000 in ad revenue!
Then, subtracting the $12,400 paid for licensing and production and shipping, you'd be left with nearly $8,000 AND 500 Hometown Trivia Games, which we recommend you retail to the public at $30 - $40 each (a normal price for a specialty board game). Bottom line is it should add $22k to $25k to your 2025 bottom line.
